Predeal is situated on the Prahova Valley, at 25 km away from Brasov and 147 km away from Bucharest. It stands out because it’s the highest situated urban setting in Romania, at 1010-1030 m. You really are on top of the world. Or on top of Romania. The resort is sourrounded by 3 massifs: Postavarul, Piatra Mare and Bucegi.

If you wish to get back home healthier after the holiday, then Predeal is a very good choice. Due to its location, there’s plenty of fresh air, without dust or other allergic agents. Moreover, the atmosphere is ionized here and the air pressure is relatively low. The resort is recommended in the neurasthenia treatment, for reinvigorating weak organisms, for post recovery after physical or intellectual overstressing, for endocrinal disorder and for children growth related problems.

Predeal is well known for winter sports. In 2012 it was one of the guest cities for the Youth Winter Olimpics. So if you want to ski or go snowboarding, you must know that there are 7 slopes with different difficulty levels.

Clabucet – 2100m – intermediate

Sub teleferic – 1200m – hard

Clabucet finish – 100m – easy

Clabucet variant – 790m – easy

We were saying earlier that Predeal is mostly known for winter sports, but in the summertime you can go hiking or mountain biking. There are 16 hiking tracks and 3 mountain biking tracks. If you are interested, there are maps waiting for you at the reception desk, which you can study before you go climb the mountain.

In the past, Predeal was the frontier town with the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the tourism in the area has grown due to this fact.

If you want to see the rangers’ building, you’re gonna find it in the same place. And if you want to visit more, we have a couple of suggestions:

– Seven Steps Canyon

– Tamina Waterfall

– The Ice Cave

– Rasnoava Keys

– Saint Nicholas Monastery

– Romanian-Catholic Down Timis Monastery
